Being able to run across potential in what others may consider a ruin beyond whatever hope is definitely something not many people tin can do. That's exactly what makes projects such as this one so special. In 2013 the drastic transformation of an old befouled located in Sprundel, kingdom of the netherlands started, when the current owners purchased the property. The manor consisted of a stable, a storage shed and a small house in between them. Information technology was studio Van Os Architecten who managed to convert everything into a modern and inviting farmhouse in 2016.
Although the barn was in very bad shape, a lot of the elements were worth preserving. Information technology was the interior brick wall and the beautiful view that offset caused the owners to autumn in love with this place. They wanted to highlight these elements along with a few other ones such as the original flooring, the wooden trusses and the wooden cladding on the outside walls. They also wanted the original shape of the roof to be retained, even though the roof itself had to be replaced completely. After a lot of work, the transformation was consummate and the once derelict barn became a cute and inviting house, a dream habitation.
